Service description:

OneLink provides information about and easy access to support services in the ACT. 

OneLink intake officer can talk about what support a person needs, and help them to link with the best service for support. OneLink can connect to a wide range of services including:

•           Child, youth and family services

•           Services for people who are homeless

•           Tenancy support

•           Legal services

•           Financial counselling

•           Mental health services

•           And many other support services

OneLink can also talk to people about housing options, including emergency accommodation.  OneLink can provide information about public housing, community housing, private rental and other options, and about what assistance might be available to secure a tenancy.

Supportive Tenancy Service (STS)

Target Group: All people with a tenancy at risk

Service description:

Provides support to people whose tenancy may be at risk, for any reason (rental arrears, property conditions etc). This service is for all people with a tenancy, including public housing, private rental and mortgages.

This is a partnership between Woden Community Service, Belconnen Community Service and the YWCA Canberra. Referrals to Supportive Tenancy Service go through OneLink

Squalor and Hoarding Support:

STS tenancy support workers will talk about their difficulties, issues and goals around tenancy, and work with them to develop and implement a plan to address these. Types of support include providing information, including talking about options; making referrals and connections to toher services (including specialised legal and financial advice); negotiating with landlords and lenders; and advocating for tenants with other parties.

Target Group:  Mental Health & Elderly

Service Description:     Red Cross is committed to an inclusive society where all people are valued, their differences respected and their basic needs met so that they can live with dignity.

Our social inclusion programs include:
Telephone Support– A friendly voice through  TeleCross (daily monitoring phone call) and TeleChat (weekly social conversations).
Meals On Wheels– More than just a meal, a friendly face to deliver it too.
Community Visiting– Assisting people with mental health issues who are experiencing isolation to expand their social networks through our MATES program. Also providing visiting to the frail aged through our Community Visiting Scheme.
Personal Alarms– Helping people stay safe at home.
Social Groups– Connecting with friends, both old and new. Creating ways for people to participate more fully in community life.

Target Group: Provides free legal advice, information, assitance and representation to people disadvantaged in their access to the law.

Service description:

Provides free legal information, referral and limited advice to anyone in the ACT. Can assist with most legal issues including family separation, tenants and landlords, employment, neighbourhood disputes and wills.

Service description:

Canberra Community Law provides free, independent and confidential legal advice and case work services. We provide 5 different legal programs – Housing Law, Social Security Law, Disability discrimination Law, Street Law, Night Time Legal Advice service.

Squalor and Hoarding Support:

  • Support, referral and case management/ case co ordination
  • Liaison/ Advocacy with government and other agencies
  • Support for clients with complex needs
  • Legal representation to assist clients to maintain tenancy
